Display or hide the mouse pointer trails in Windows 7

For better visibility of the mouse pointer, you can set Windows 7 to display pointer trails. You can also change the length of the pointer trail. To show or hide the mouse pointer trails, perform the following steps:
1. Click the Start button and then click Control Panel.
2. If the View by: is Category then click on Hardware and Sound. Under Devices and Printers, click Mouse. If the View by: is Large icons or Small icons then click on Mouse.
3. Click the Pointer Options tab. In the Visibility section, do one of the following:
  • To display the mouse pointer trails, click to place a checkmark beside Display pointer trails and drag the slider to change the length of the pointer trail.
  • To hide the mouse pointer trails, click to remove the checkmark beside Display pointer trails.
4. Click Apply and then click OK.
