How to insert a column with or without formatting details in Excel 2007?

When you insert a column in Excel 2007, by default the inserted column has the formatting details as that of the previous column. You can change this behavior and have other formatting options too. Input the following information to demonstrate this:
1. Click cell A1 and press the SHIFT key and click cell A5. Five cells are now selected.
2. Change the color of the cells to yellow and the color of the text to red.
3. Click cell B1 and press the SHIFT key and click cell B5. Five cells are now selected.
4. Change the color of the cells to blue and the color of the text to white.
5. Enter the information in cells A1 to A5, B1 to B5 as shown in the figure below.
6. Click cell B1. On the Home tab, in the Cells group, click the down arrow in Insert and click Insert Sheet Columns.

The Insert Options button appears. Clicking the Insert Options button pops up three values:
A. Format Same As Left
B. Format Same As Right
C. Clear Formatting

A. Format Same As Left
When you click this option, the newly inserted column has the formatting details exactly as that of the column that is to the left of it. This means, the inserted column has the yellow color background and red color font applied to the cells.
B. Format Same As Right
When you click this option, the newly inserted column has the formatting details exactly as that of the column that is to the right of it. This means, the inserted column has the blue color background and white color font applied to the cells.
C. Clear Formatting
No formatting is applied when you choose this option.
