Show hidden files and folders in Windows 7

By default, Windows 7 does not show the hidden files, folders or drives. To view the hidden files, folders, or drives, perform the following steps:
1. Click the Start button and then click Control Panel.
2. If the View by: is Category then click on Appearance and Personalization and then click Folder Options. If the View by: is Large icons or Small icons then click on Folder Options.
3. In the Folder Options dialog box, click the View tab and click Show hidden files, folders, and drives.
4. Click Apply and then click OK.
