Change the user account picture in Windows 7

When you click on the Start button, the user account picture appears at the top right part of the Start menu. You may change the picture that is associated with your user account. To do so, perform the following:
1. Click Start button , click Control Panel.
2. Click User Accounts and Family Safety if the View by: is Category or click on User Accounts if the View by: is Small icons or Large icons.
3. Click Change your picture.
4. Choose from the list of pictures that you see or make the picture of your choice to appear by clicking on Browse for more pictures... and then navigating to the location, then clicking on Open.
You may use a picture of any size and of the following file formats (.jpg, .png, .bmp, or .gif).
5. Click Change Picture.
