Add desktop icons in Windows 7

By default, only Recycle Bin icon is present on the desktop. You may add other icons like Computer, User's files, Network, Control Panel icons to the desktop by performing the following steps:

1. Right-click on an empty space on the desktop and click on Personalize.
2. From the left pane, click Change desktop icons.
3. In the Desktop Icon Settings dialog box, under Desktop icons section, click to place a check mark to make the icons appear on the desktop.
4. Click Apply and then click OK.
