If you delete a file then it moves to the Recycle Bin. To delete a file, the file should not be opened. Perform the following steps to delete a file in Excel 2007:
1. Open Microsoft Excel.
2. Click the Microsoft Office Button and click Open.
3. The Open dialog box opens. Locate the file that you want to delete.
4. Right click the file and click Delete.
5. In the message box that says Are you sure you want to move this file to Recycle Bon?, click Yes.
6. Press Esc or click Cancel to close the Open dialog box.
