If you had gone through web sites or books for Excel 2007 then you will be informed that a worksheet in Excel 2007 has 1048576 rows and 16384 columns. If you decide to check this out and had started pressing the right arrow key till the end of the columns or if you press the CTRL + RIGHT arrow key, you will see XFD in the column header. When you press the CTRL + DOWN arrow, you will see that the last row number is 1048576. Now, you had verified the row number count but not for the column number. You can do the following to see the rows by columns count:
Click cell A1 and press the CTRL + SHIFT + DOWN arrow keys. Keeping the CTRL and SHIFT keys in pressed state, press the RIGHT arrow key. You will see the selected number of rows by columns number just above the row number 1.
