In Windows 7, when you maximize the command prompt window, it gets maximized in the vertical direction. Horizontal wise, the command prompt does not gets maximized to the entire screen. You may change the width of the command prompt window by performing the following steps:
1. Open Command Prompt window by clicking Start button , All Programs, Accessories, then Command Prompt.
2. Right-click on the title bar of the Command Prompt window and click Properties to open "Command Prompt" Properties dialog box.
3. Click Layout tab, in the Window Size section, change the Width: value. You can preview the changes that you make in the Window Preview section.
4. Click OK to accept the changes.
